Mountain Blaquemore

12 Miles Mt Blaquemore or the more common name MT Blackmore. It was named for a tourist who had the unfortunate inconvenience to perish in her Montana adventure. As usual it the banal: illness. So they named a damn mountain for her. I'm sure she's was a lovely person. She was British. They're all lovely people. My pet peeve is the fact that I'm coming on to 25 years in this state. You'd think they could name one thing for me. It's really not alot to ask. I wouldn't even demand a mountain, even though there are some perfectly good mountains with at this point no name. No, I'll take a hillock or ditch or street or cul de sac.
The starting elevation for the hike is 6,720. The elevation gain is 3,434 feet from the trailhead. Everyone says that it's 10 miles, but my trusty pedometer says 12.57. My feet say 12 miles. Kaleau the dog is of course dog tired. Posted by Picasa

Sounds like a challenging hike! What is Bozeman's elevation? (I think I would have a hard time starting a hike at 6700 feet already.)

5100 feet is Bozeman's elevation. It was long, but not particularly difficult. You'd of aced it.
